Opening Reception for January/February 2023 Exhibitions
Artspace presents new exhibitions for January-February, 2023. The opening reception, scheduled for Friday, January 27, 2023, from 6-9pm, features artwork by Reni Gower, Franchell Mack Brown, Sandhi Schimmel Gold, and two group exhibitions. Exhibition dates are January 27 - February 18, 2023.
Reni Gower’s show, GEOmatrix: a Perfect Proof, features hand cut works of paper, vinyl, or Tyvek. Franchell Mack Brown’s show, FLAGVIBES: a perspective of PERSONHOOD from an-Other American, features mixed media including crocheted ribbons, ropes, cords, freshwater pearls, semi precious stones, and synthetic hair. Sandhi Schimmel Gold’s show, Memoir and Mirrors: A reflection of four generations of creative women, features mixed media assemblages. Also on view will be an Artspace Artist Members Group Exhibition. Additionally, the Elisabeth Flynn-Chapman Gallery will feature a group exhibition by CVAEA called Artist as Educator: Back from Hiatus, which includes artwork by art educators in the central region of Virginia, including Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover, Richmond City & surrounding counties.
