Josh Sinton will present music for solo baritone saxophone for the first set, followed by a trio performance with Adam Hopkins (bass) and Scott Clark (drums). Sinton has recorded two albums for solo baritone saxophone, his debut in the format b. released in December 2021, and the more recent recording of Steve Lacy solo etudes, Book of Practitioners, Vol. 1 "H", released in August 2022.
Josh Sinton is a musical performer, composer and creative artist who has called Brooklyn, NY home since 2004. He's studied at the AACM and with Ken Vandermark in Chicago, Steve Lacy in Boston and has performed with Anthony Braxton, Samuel Newsome, Tom Rainey, Nate Wooley and Ingrid Laubrock in New York. His primary point of focus has been the baritone saxophone and the intersection(s) of improvisation and composition but can also be heard on bass clarinet and alto flute.
