Deep Groove is the best record store in Richmond (there are many great ones!) and Scott and I both met Cloud of Tear Ducts through shopping for records there. We later both heard them perform a solo acoustic guitar set at the Camel, and Tear Ducts has been on our list of artists to have on OOYH Second Mondays since. We're very excited about this set! Curt Sydnor released the fantastic Deep End Shallow on Out Of Your Head Records in 2020 (the most doomed album release show of all time, repeatedly canceled), and he started his quartet with Laura Ann Singh, Scott Clark, and Adam Hopkins soon after. The band would eventually become Curt Sydnor & The Trembling Hand. Curt has somehow put out many awesome records since 2020, with a new one featuring this group in November. You can listen to the previous releases here: https://sydnor.bandcamp.com

Curt Sydnor is a composer and keyboardist living in Richmond, VA. In March 2020 he released his second album Deep End Shallow on NYC-based Out of Your Head Records. Everything Is Noise called it "absolutely nothing anyone would've expected." Take Effect calls it "one of the most atypical listening experiences of 2020." Something Else! says it "appreciates with every listen." Sydnor plays organ at historic St. John's Church in Richmond and teaches at Greenspring Int'l Academy of Music. He has released five albums under his own name of mostly original music. In 2022 he received a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts to complete his sixth release, slated for late 2023.
