Thea Paul

Lift every voice and sing a NEW Black History song! Thea Paul, an educator from Richmond, Virginia, has created a new international Black History Song. Paul is the sole lyricist and lead vocalist for a unique song that aims to unite the African diaspora in the Western Hemisphere. The song, appropriately entitled, The Black History Song, is sung in four different languages: English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. She performs her unique song at venues in Henrico, Chesterfield, Richmond, and other localities around the state.

Paul is also a local dance instructor. She hopes to re-connect humanity through the dance genre called, Chicago-style Steppin’. She is the lead instructor for Steppin’ classes held at Chesterfield County’s Beulah Recreation Center and promotes an annual event called, Party in Pastel, where community and out-of-town guests come to participate in this wonderful partner dance.
