Artist Statement

I work only in watercolor using the basic principles and elements of art in the beginning process of my work. I then move to the unexpected and intuition to develop my paintings beyond what is expected of watercolor. I am currently exploring, as many watercolorists are, eliminating the need for mats, glass and frames.

Biography:

Sandra’s background includes FIT, designer for Allison Scott for Spencerville, a small Children's Wear Company 7th Ave NYC. She has taken various classes at Pratt, SVA and Parsons. After moving to VA and taking a hiatus for 15 years she returned to her art choosing watercolor for its simple, complexed beauty. Sandra studied with Shelly Bechtel Shepherd and many other globally respected watercolor artists. Formal education began at what is now known as Tisch School of the Arts but always was the kid with the crayons. She is thankful for her Patrons.
