Martha Prideaux is a professional abstract painter who lives in Richmond, VA. She is known for using cold wax medium to build layered, textured, and luminous surfaces. She is on the faculty at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Studio School, is a visiting artist at the Henrico Center for the Arts, and an instructor at Nimrod Hall artist’s retreat. This recent work is exploring the importance of negative space as a place to rest and a means to narrow focus to what really matters. It reflects how I try to look at life, especially since I just entered my 6th decade.
