Artist Statement
My work is about finding balance within chaos, human thoughts and the way they are processed, and the emotions behind compartmentalization. I would describe my art as a mode of meditative problem-solving.
I've always been drawn to the question of "why do people think the way that they do?" I think this began with mapping out why I think the way I do, which I did through making art. I crave mark-making and, subsequently, bringing order to that mark making.
I like for my work to provide a way for viewers to play within the solace of their own heads...to weave in and out of shapes and lines and colors in a way that is chaotic, though also satisfying.
