Ed Holten
“As an artist I use photography to explore complex themes including loss and the latent power of spaces or objects caught in a state of transition. I also create intimate photographic portraits of family, friends and musicians. In addition to photography I have exhibited sculptures and drawings. I initially studied film photography and printmaking at Towson State in Maryland and then received an MFA in sculpture from VCU. I have been awarded fellowships from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Virginia State Commission of the Arts. My artwork has been exhibited extensively and internationally, including a solo exhibition at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art.”
