Artist Statement
For the past two decades, I’ve focused on abstract painting using Sharpie and acrylics. My Elaborate Doodles allow me to embrace my human mark in my artwork – its perfect imperfection –  helping me coax order out of chaos and create work that is singular in nature.

Recently, I’ve been drawn to a desire to work more representationally again. Not wanting to abandon my process, I have been working towards melding my technique into pieces featuring representational imagery. As cats are among my favorite things, I decided to focus on them as my subjects for this exhibition. The work presented in this show are new pieces that illustrate my progress as I develop this process.
