Artist Statement:
Precisionism
As an artist I have always been influenced by the early 20th century works of artists such as Charles Sheeler and Charles Demuth who recreated colossal machines, billowing factories, and angular skyscrapers. They were painted with exacting precision and were called The American Artists Of The Industrial Age. The paintings I have chosen to present in this show are a love and fascination for this movement, my dashboards and vintage bubble gum machines were painted with this movement in mind. The watercolor / gouache and acrylic paintings were reminiscent of my years living in Panama where I began to explore my work more organically including Ol Workhorse, Lush Botanicals as well as Sea Life.
