Artspace continues its Satellite exhibition series at Boyd Realty Group, our new neighbor in the Stratford Hills Shopping, with a presentation of artwork by Artspace artist member Kathleen Westkaemper. An opening reception will coincide with Artspace's February-March exhibitions from 6-9 p.m.

Throughout my life I have been watching birds and they have enriched my life. It’s been my way to connect to nature no matter where I may be living and working. Though threatened, birds are still everywhere and even when in cities or suburbia I can still look up or down and find birds that share with me their beauty and perseverance.

Kathleen Westkaemper, a native Californian who now lives in Richmond, Virginia, has never outgrown her childhood need to draw. Today she most enjoys drawing in oil paint stick on board. Birds of all kinds are a favorite inspiration for her drawings. Westkaemper’s work is included in corporate and private collections and has been displayed in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions.

Westkaemper has been an artist member of Artspace for over 30 years.
