Paul “Buddy” Terrell
“There is a rhythm that happens through sculpting with Raku fired ceramics. Forming, working; wet, leather hard, and dry. Then I am bisque firing, glazing, pulling work from the kiln at 1850 degrees Fahrenheit, immersing in combustible materials, and reducing the oxygen. Finally opening the chamber yields serendipitous results. Ideas form through processing earth, water, air, and fire. The paradox of my method is the structure of intention and the random nature of chance.”
