Artist Statement

There was a generally held belief that a photograph could record the TRUTH, that the moment captured by the camera would depict the way things really appeared at that time. Even though documentary photographers still try to capture this truth, the public's belief in the truth of the image has changed with the advent of digital photography and more recently, AI. My belief has always been that a photograph can transform. I do not try to record the truth, but to create a different dimension, using colors, objects, reflections, lights, movement, and people. This work is presented as a vision of what may be, not what is.
