My current collection of work is called interior worlds. It depicts the rivers of connection that run between beings and their most special relationships. I express the interior worlds of my subjects externally. My work is a glimpse of what we carry within us, the deeper or secret aspects of being alive on the planet that we share. I like to portray the kinship that we contain, with beauty and everyday sacredness. Our kindred bonds, both created and kept, light us up and make us special, even, sometimes, profound.
I paint Mother Earth dancing with her endangered family, maintaining the love and joy of communion with them as they slip from her fingers. I paint the beating heart of an elder oak, and a self portrait with bees expressing the fragile symbiosis that we encompass. I paint the umbilical cord between humans and our green allies. That connection ties us to the planet. I paint the dreams of children and adults: to understand flight, to find proof of mermaids, to weave our sacred history, or hold on to fleeting joy. At our core we all have some precious and sacred vein that can be revealed.
