Directions to our gallery:
Artspace is located in the Plant Zero Art Center, 3 blocks south of the James River at the 14th Street Bridge, and is bounded by East 3rd St., Hull St., East 4th St., and Decatur St.
A fenced and lighted parking lot faces the E. 4th St. entrance and can be accessed from Hull St. or Decatur.
Artspace has access from within Plant Zero as well as a separate entrance physically located at 31 East 3rd St.
Artworks, a separately operated arts facility, occupies the front building of the complex facing Hull St. and has its own entrance on E. 4th. Street, next door to the main entrance of the Plant Zero facility.
Travel Directions:
From 95, take Exit 73, left on Maury St., right on Commerce, right on Hull St.
From The Downtown Expressway, 195
Driving from the toll booth towards 95 south
Take the exit at 7th St.
Proceed straight to 9th St. and turn right onto bridge.
Drive South across the Manchester Bridge which becomes Commerce St.
Stay left and go towards Hull St. (a McDonald's is on the right at Commerce and Hull)
Turn left one block past Hull St. at Decatur.
Back entrance to Parking lot is on the left between 5th and 4th streets. (or U-turn back to Hull St. and turn right, parking lot is on the right)

General History and Mission
Artspace
began in 1988 as an association of artists interested in exhibiting their own work
and providing a space for other artists to reach a wider audience in the greater Richmond, Virginia area.
Since then, Artspace has maintained a gallery
committed to showing first quality visual art in a variety of innovative styles and media.
The gallery has also been the forum for original work in poetry, prose, drama, dance and music.

The monthly exhibitions and performance art
series have placed Artspace on the cutting edge of the artistic scene in Richmond.
Artspace is a nonprofit gallery for the visual and performing arts, promoting the understanding and awareness of contemporary art.

If your work is accepted for an exhibition at Artspace, you will be required to follow these Gallery Guidelines. Please familiarize yourself with these guidelines before submitting your application.

Our performance art series, originally scheduled for the third Thursday of each month, has grown to include many Friday and Saturday events as well.
